Special notes for a convenient Singapore trip

Singapore is not a strange country for us, but certainly there will be many tourists who do not know Singapore tourism you need to know the following notes to have a favorable trip.

1. Note when holding immigration entry (Embarkation Form)

You can enter personal information into the Embarkation Form on the plane to save time (the attendant will give it to you) or you can go to the airport and fill in the Embarkation Form counters as well. If you go on a Singapore tour, the tour team will assist you with this.

Going to Singapore Customs, they will ask you some information to confirm what you have filled in the Embarkation Form. They will then return you a part of the Embarkation Form. Remember to keep this part, so that when going back, Singapore customs will reclaim that Embarkation Form.

2. Things will not be indispensable in your Singapore trip

Like any other foreign trip, your luggage cannot lack the following items:

Hats / Hats:  A jacket that helps to keep out the sun will keep you warm during a long day of walking. So don't forget to bring a hat to protect your face in the sun.

Sport shoes : Of course, because you will have to walk a lot, a pair of sandals will not be the optimal choice now. However, a pair of flip-flops is a savior when you have foot pain from wearing too much shoes.

Water bottles:  In Singapore, there are many public drinking water pillars, especially in the entertainment centers, so do not forget to bring water bottles to catch, just to energize yourself and save costs, about $ 1 / bottle.

If traveling to Singapore  during the rainy season, you should bring an umbrella / raincoat to avoid sudden rains.

Odds of face value of $ 1 - $ 2 - $ 5 - $ 10 (SGD) and odd coins should be available in your pocket. They may be used when using public devices such as MRT recharge machines, public phones, vending machines ...

3. Travel by Singapore MRT

At the airport, you should buy the MRT card because it is cheaper to buy a MRT ticket than one ticket. If you buy a card, you go to the Ticket Office, if you buy tickets in turn, go to the ticket machine and choose the station and buy, pay in cash.

There are 2 types of MRT cards: 1 is normal, use as much as you want. One type is a service pack, a package purchase can go anywhere within 3 days. When I bought, the package ended, I bought the normal card for $ 12 ($ 5 is the card money, $ 7 is the money included in the card).

The amount to be maintained on the MRT card must be $ 3 (SGD).

This MRT card can be returned when you return home. But you only get a refund on the card, $ 5 card fee is not refundable.

At the MRT station there are electronic boards showing the train arrival time + the last station so you can get more information. But rest assured that each MRT train is about 5-6 minutes apart. Some trips are only 3-4 minutes apart, so you don't have to wait long.

Do not eat, drink, chew gum, smoke in the train station or on the train.

There are a number of priority seats for the elderly, children, pregnant women, children, disabled people, you should not sit.

4. Buy items home and remember to visit GST at the airport

The GST at the airport is where you get your taxes back after buying things. This amount is refundable for tangible material products such as clothing, makeup, items ... and does not include hotels, meals, service charges ... GST staff will check the goods purchased + You will receive a refund for the receipt before confirmation.

Earlier, when you bought things during your Singapore trip , remember to tell the cashier that you wanted the GST refund, they would issue you a GST refund next to the receipt so you can go to the airport to get the money back.

A small tip is to check-in before going to the GST counter to avoid long queues for refunds, which can delay your flight.
